Description
Postcard with a black and white photograph of the Eldridge House on the front. Photograph focuses on the front and the side of the building facing the street. Building takes up a large portion of the street block and is three stories tall. On the right side of the building's front is an "Express Office" sign and a sign with "Union Pacific Ticket Office" painted on it. A banner hangs above the front middle door with "Eldridge House Barber Shop" printed on it. On the second floor balcony are two banners for "The Witching Hour" on October 19th. At the bottom of the photograph is a black strip with "No. 6076. Eldridge House, Lawrence, Kansas" is printed in white ink. A white border is around the entire photograph. On the back in the middle "Mfgd. by M.L. Zercher Book and Stationery Co., Topeka, Kansas" is printed sideways in black ink. Information on when and where the postcard was acquired is on the back, 6/24/2001 from NLFM. Note: This is now the Eldridge Hotel.
