Postcard with a black and white picture of a scene from the 1908 flood on the front. Photograph shows the flooded Kansas River from the top of the National Bank. A black strip is at the bottom with "200 Flood View from Nat. Bank, '08 Lawrence, Ks Photo by Lawrence" is printed in white ink. A white border is around the entire photograph. A note is written on the back to Mrs. I.M. Taylor in Salem, Ohio. Writer is traveling by train and the postcard is postmarked La Junta Tr 2 1908 (La Junta, Colorado is a stop on the Southwest Chief Route). Information on when the postcard was acquired is on the back, 10/22/1982.
