Segment from an interview with Judy Wright conducted by Kaye McIntyre for a Kansas Public Radio special commemorating the thirty-year anniversary of the 1983 broadcast of The Day After, a made-for-TV movie depicting the aftermath of nuclear war, which was set and filmed primarily in Lawrence, Kansas. The KPR special aired on November 12, 2013.Wright was an extra in the film. She “never fully realized the impact” of the film until a few days before it aired, when Time Magazine interviewed her.
